It's Finally Over!

I love Christmas, but I am so glad it is over. We had a really good one this year. I will start our story by telling you about Christmas Eve.
We always go to Price for the day. I got all of the presents to go with us out from under the tree the night before and put them on the kitchen table. I didn't want to forget anything. Donny was in charge of loading the presents into the car while I finished getting ready.
We left the house at 9:30 and started on our way. We got to the second Springville exit when Donny suddenly remembered that he forgot to get the dog food for his parents and the few presents that he was in charge of buying. The funniest part is that he asked me a couple of times, "Now, you're sure you didn't forget any presents". Needless to say, we had to turn around and go back to Lehi and get the stuff out of his car that we had forgotten.
The funniest part about this was that the freeway in Orem was shut down to one lane and it was backed up all the way to Provo. Luckily, we knew this because we had already driven by so we were able to jump off and take the side roads to bypass the traffic.
All in all, the trip that should have taken us 1 1/2 hours, took us 2 1/2 hours. The baby was a little cranky about being in the car seat so long but it wasn't too bad. We had a really good dinner at Donny's parents house and just hung out most of the day. Even the drive home wasn't too bad.

We woke up at 7:00 on Christmas morning to see what Santa brought for the children. Payton was really excited to see what he got. Addy didn't want anything to do with the stuff she got. She only wanted to play with McKenzie and Payton's stuff. We opened presents downstairs and then got ready to go have breakfast at Grandma Dolly's. She makes the best Christmas morning casserole. We did the presents and then came home to veg for the rest of the day. I love when all of the chaos is over and then you just relax. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas like we did!

Spreading Christmas Cheer

Click here to create your own video

Make sure you go to the bottom and pause the music before you push play. I thought this was a cute little video. I was lucky to not have been in it because there was not a selection with 5 people in it. Have a Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Addyson's First Friend

Donny and I went to a funeral in Price yesterday and so my friend, Shannon, came over to babysit the children. She brought her daughter, Grace, who is only 4 days younger than Addy. They had so much fun playing together. We were hoping by the end of the day the Addy would teach Grace to walk and that Grace would teach Addy to talk. I don't know if our plan worked, but Shannon got some really cute pics of the girls playing.

Here they are just having a quick drink together.

I think this was the point where Grace had to take an important call.

Finally, hanging together on the couch having some much needed girl time and watching some TV.
If only yhey knew that it doesn't change much when they get older. You do pretty much the same things with your girlfriends. At least we have a ways to go before we get to the BOYS stage. Thank goodness!!

Happy Birthday McKenzie!!!

I just wanted to say "Happy Birthday" to my daughter, McKenzie. She turned 9 today! I can't believe how fast time flies. We will have pics to follow after we have the party with the family on Sunday. They grow up way too fast! Here are a few pics to remember when she was still "sweet and innocent".

This is Halloween in 2004. She had just gotten in a go-cart accident and that would explain the huge bandage and headband on her forehead. I promise that I didn't think it was the new style!

This pic is from preschool graduation. She got to wear a cap and gown to look totally official.

This one is from her birthday when she turned 5. It is amazing how much they change every year. She still looks a little bit like a baby here with her chubby cheeks.

These photos are some of my all time favorites. We had these taken in June 2005. McKenzie is growing up to be such a beautiful girl. We love her very much. Happy Birthday sweetie!!!
